Job summary

Tampa General Hospital is actively seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to support our expanding Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology team. The APP will work with the on‑call attending physician during nightly shifts, evaluating new patients and managing follow‑up care for inpatients including ICU cases with mechanical circulatory support.

The role involves pre‑ and post‑operative care for heart transplant recipients and infusion therapy for patients on chronic inotropes.

Qualifications

• PA and/or NP with Acute Care or Gerontology certification.
• Advanced Heart Failure, Transplant, and General Cardiology experience preferred.
• Current licensure as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant in the State of Florida.

Responsibilities

• New patient evaluation and admission.
• Follow‑up care for admitted inpatients including ICU patients with mechanical circulatory support devices (LVAD, IABP, ECMO).
• Management of patients on chronic inotrope infusions.
• Pre‑operative and post‑operative care of heart transplant recipients.
