Job summary

Exceptional Healthcare's new Emergency Department in Rapid City, SD is hiring an Emergency Medicine Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) to help launch the facility this Fall 2026.

The position entails evaluating and treating ED patients, ordering tests, performing procedures, and documenting thoroughly while collaborating with physicians, nurses, and staff to deliver concierge-level care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited NP or PA program.
• Eligible for unrestricted SD licensure.
• Eligible for DEA registration in SD.
• Current BLS and ACLS certification.
• 2 years ED or equivalent emergency medicine experience.
• Able to meet credentialing, privileging, payer enrollment and background screening requirements.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, assess, diagnose, and treat ED patients within privileges.
• Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests.
• Perform procedures within granted privileges.
• Collaborate with EM physicians, nursing staff and ancillary departments.
• Maintain complete, timely medical documentation.
• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care reflecting concierge-level service.

As we prepare to open our newest location in Rapid City, we’re looking for Emergency Medicine Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)) who are passionate about practicing high-quality emergency medicine while helping build a culture centered around compassion, teamwork, accountability, and excellence.

Minimum Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
• Eligible for unrestricted South Dakota licensure
• Eligible for DEA registration and South Dakota controlled substance authority
• Current BLS and ACLS certification
• 2 Years emergency Department, or comparable emergency medicine experience
• Comfortable evaluating, stabilizing, and treating emergency patients within approved clinical privileges
• Ability to successfully meet all Exceptional Community Hospital credentialing, privileging, payer enrollment, background screening, and compliance requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Emergency Medicine experience
• PALS and ATLS certification
• Experience performing emergency procedures consistent with granted privileges
• Strong independent clinical judgment
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Commitment to concierge-level patient care and exceptional customer service
