Job summary

The Center for Primary Care is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join our corporate office in Augusta, GA. You will practice medicine under physician supervision, conduct examinations, write prescriptions, and deliver a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic services for acute and chronic conditions.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree and successful completion of accredited nurse practitioner / physician assistant program required.
  • Licensure, Certification, or Registration: Current GA APRN/PA license and certification (AANP/ANCC or NCCPA) required.
  • Experience: Three years of Family Medicine NP/PA experience preferred; recent graduates may apply.

  • Contributes to physician's effectiveness by identifying patient care issues and advising on courses of action.
  • Assesses health by interviewing patients, performing exams, and updating medical histories.
  • Orders and interprets diagnostic tests and documents patient care in records.
  • Performs injections, immunizations, suturing, and wound management.
  • Counsels patients on regimens, wellness, and family planning; promotes health maintenance.
  • Develops and implements patient management plans for continuity of care.
  • Adheres to infection-control policies and regulatory requirements.

Advanced Practice Provider

This job opportunity is in our corporate office. The position is responsible for practicing medicine with physician supervision including conducting examinations and writing prescriptions. Within the physician–advance practice provider (NP / APP) relationship, advanced practice providers exercise autonomy in medical decisions to make and provide a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic services for patients with acute and chronic conditions to restore their optimal health.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contributes to physician's effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range patient care issues that must be addressed; providing information and commentary pertinent to deliberations; recommending options and courses of action; implementing physician directives.
  • Assesses patient health by interviewing patients; performing physical examinations; obtaining, updating, and studying medical histories.
  • Determines abnormal conditions by administering or ordering diagnostic tests, such as x-rays, electrocardiograms, and laboratory studies, interpreting test results.
  • Documents patient care services by charting within patient and department records.
  • Performs therapeutic procedures by administering injections and immunizations; suturing; managing wounds and infections.
  • Instructs and counsels patients by describing therapeutic regimens; giving normal growth and development information; discussing family planning; providing counseling on emotional problems of daily living; promoting wellness and health maintenance.
  • Provides continuity of care by developing and implementing patient management plans.
  • Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.

Requirements
Qualifications for Success:
Education, License/Certification, and Experience Requirements

Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree and successful completion of accredited nurse practitioner / physician assistant program required.

Licensure, Certification, or Registration Required:
  • Current unencumbered (GA) license to practice as a Certified Nurse Practitioner (APRN), Advanced Practice Provider, or Physician Assistant (PA-C) required.
  • Current AANP, ANCC (NP) or NCCPA (PA) certification.

Experience: Three years of experience as a Family Medicine NP / PA, preferred. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
