Job summary

SMG System Medical Group in Wheeling, WV seeks a Primary Care APP for an outpatient clinic and nursing home care at Wheeling East Cove Family Medicine. The successful candidate will practice in a busy primary care setting with emphasis on comprehensive patient management.

Role requires MSN or PA certification, WV licensure, BLS with ALS/ACLS training. You will perform exams, order tests, provide counseling, and coordinate with staff in a Meditech EMR environment; 40 hours weekly, exempt.

Qualifications

• Graduate of CCNE nursing program with Master's in Nursing or PA program graduate.
• WV certification and/or license as required.
• Basic Life Support Certification; ALS/ACLS training as per department.

Responsibilities

• Administers or orders diagnostic tests (x-ray, POC lab).
• Examines patients to obtain information about their condition.
• Instructs patients about regimens, growth and health maintenance.
• Interprets diagnostic tests for deviations.
• Makes diagnoses and treatment decisions for patients.
• Obtains and records health data in Meditech EMR.
• Performs injections, immunizations, wound care and infection management.
• Prescribes therapy or medication electronically when available.
• Educates and coordinates activities with medical assistants.
• Provides emergency support following policies.
• Communicates with staff and administration.

WVUHS Medical Group seeks a Primary Care APP for an outpatient clinic and Nursing Home Care. The successful candidate will practice at Wheeling East Cove Family Medicine in Wheeling, WV.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. Graduate of a CCNE accredited nursing program with Master’s Degree in Nursing OR Graduate of accredited physician assistant program.

2. West Virginia certification and/or license as required

3. Basic Life Support Certification required with additional Advanced Life Support (ALS)/Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) training at the discretion of the department.

9.Educates, instructs and coordinates activities with the medical assistant(s) as needed during the care and treatment of patients.

10.Provides emergency support following established policies and procedures.

11.Communicates with staff, medical staff and administration in support of operations.
