We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Advanced Practice Professional (AGACNP or PA) to join our Orthopaedic Surgery Team at Davie Medical Center. The APP will collaborate closely with orthopaedic surgeons to provide high-quality care for patients undergoing orthopaedic procedures and will also cover Neurosurgical spine patients. Responsibilities include patient assessments, orthopaedic consults, postoperative care including pain management, and developing treatment plans.

Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 2pm-12am

Job Summary

The APP participates in team-focused patient care through examinations, diagnostics, and therapeutic interventions in medical and surgical settings. The clinician operates under the regulatory mandates of their respective licensing organization (North Carolina Medical Board or North Carolina Board of Nursing) with departmental credentialing from the institution.

What You’ll Do:
  • Conduct thorough patient examinations and evaluations in medical/surgical settings.
  • Use medical decision-making skills to determine appropriate care plans.
  • Collaborate with the medical team for effective team-based care.
  • Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic studies.
  • Explain procedures and preparations to patients.
  • Participate in research projects and precept students or medical learners.
  • Uphold the missions, values, and cultural commitments of AHWFB.
  • Perform other related duties as needed.

Licensing and Certification Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program; Master's degree preferred.
  • Current North Carolina Medical Board Medical License and NCCPA certification OR North Carolina Board of Nursing RN and Nurse Practitioner licenses.
  • Current BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross.
  • DEA and DPS registration for prescription writing.
