Job summary

INcompass Healthcare in Indiana is seeking a Psychiatric Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) for a part-time role with every other weekend shifts. The APN will assess, diagnose, and manage mental health conditions and work with a multidisciplinary team to provide holistic care.

The role requires PMHNP certification, Indiana APN licensure, and strong pharmacology knowledge. Preference for trauma-informed care experience and excellent communication skills. Competitive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Master’s degree in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing and be licensed as an APN in Indiana.
• Board certification as PMHNP is required or in good standing.
• Experience delivering psychiatric care across diverse populations is essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive psychiatric assessments to diagnose conditions.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop holistic care plans.
• Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications per guidelines.
• Provide individual and group therapy to support patient mental health.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
• Educate patients and families about disorders, options, and self-care.
• Maintain accurate medical records compliant with regulatory standards.

Position Summary

The Psychiatric Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) will be responsible for providing comprehensive psychiatric care to patients, including assessment, diagnosis, and management of mental health conditions. The role requires a high level of expertise in psychiatric nursing and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.

Part-Time. Every other weekend shift!

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Conducts thorough psychiatric assessments of patients to identify mental health issues and formulate treatment plans.
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members to develop and implement holistic care plans for patients.
• Prescribes and managing psychotropic medications in accordance with best practices and guidelines.
• Provides individual and group therapy to support patients in managing their mental health conditions.
• Monitors and evaluating patients' progress and making appropriate adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
• Educates patients and their families about mental health disorders, treatment options, and self-care strategies.
• Maintains accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.

Minimum Qualifications (knowledge, Skills, And Abilities)

• Master's degree in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing from an accredited program.
• Current licensure as an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) in the state of Indiana.
• Board certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
• Proven experience providing psychiatric care to diverse patient populations
• Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology and evidence-based treatment modalities for mental health disorders.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues
• Proficiency in using electronic health records and other healthcare technology
