Job summary

Cooper Bone & Joint Institute, part of Cooper University Health Care in South Jersey, is seeking an Advanced Practice Nurse to join our growing podiatry team. The APN will provide outpatient care for postoperative patients, routine foot and ankle conditions, wound management, and non-operative podiatric care in a collaborative setting with podiatric surgeons.

This role supports expansion of the foot and ankle program and improves access to high-quality podiatric care.

Qualifications

• NJ NP license and RN licensure with board certification required.
• BLS certification required.
• Orthopedic experience preferred.
• Full-time, day shift.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage postoperative podiatry patients.
• Provide routine follow-up for non-operative foot and ankle conditions.
• Perform wound assessments and ongoing wound management.
• Coordinate referrals with podiatric surgeons and other specialties.
• Educate patients on postoperative and wound care.

Advanced Practice Nurse – Podiatry

The Cooper Bone & Joint Institute is seeking an Advanced Practice Nurse to join our expanding Podiatry service. This position supports a growing surgical podiatry practice by providing comprehensive outpatient care for postoperative patients, routine foot and ankle conditions, wound management, and non-operative podiatric care.

Working collaboratively with Cooper's team of podiatric surgeons, physicians, and multidisciplinary care team, the APN will help improve patient access by managing appropriate follow-up care, allowing physicians to focus on new patient evaluations and complex surgical care. The role is an important part of Cooper's commitment to expanding comprehensive foot and ankle services and enhancing continuity of care.

Responsibilities include:

• Evaluate and manage postoperative podiatry patients.
• Provide routine follow-up care for non-operative foot and ankle conditions.
• Perform wound assessments and ongoing wound management within scope of practice.
• Monitor healing progression and coordinate care with podiatric surgeons.
• Educate patients on postoperative care, wound care, diabetic foot care, and preventive strategies.
• Coordinate referrals and collaborate with vascular surgery, wound care, primary care, endocrinology, and other specialties as appropriate.
• Assist in developing comprehensive foot preservation and limb preservation initiatives.
• Participate in quality improvement efforts and multidisciplinary care coordination.

Experience Required

Orthopedic experience (preferred).

Master's Degree - Nurse Practitioner
