Advanced Nurse Practice (APN) Position
The Advanced Nurse Practice (APN) position is located within the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) – Veterans Health Administration (VHA) – under the Mental Health and Behavioral Sciences Service Line (MHBS). The NP will provide advanced clinical practice, consultation, and management. This announcement is open continuously until closed.
Duties
- Independently manages a panel of patients with acute and chronic health conditions with an emphasis on health promotion and disease prevention using evidence-based practice.
- Develops and implements an individualized plan to achieve optimal population health and disease management.
- Demonstrates leadership and works collaboratively with Primary Care Team and other interdisciplinary team members.
- Orders and interprets diagnostic studies.
- Prescribes pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions.
- Initiates referrals/consults to specialty services.
- Provides education to patients and their families.
- Assesses and adjusts the plan of care as needed to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications
- Must meet all VHA policy eligibility requirements, including EDRP eligibility, and submit EDRP application within four months of appointment.
- Former EDRP participants are ineligible for this position.
