Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center is seeking an Advanced Practice Manager, Neonatology, to lead a team of 18 APPs in a 62-bed NICU. The role blends clinical care with operational oversight, including scheduling, staff development, and quality initiatives, with a shared provider rotation.

Schedule this is a full-time, 40-hour per week position based on-site at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. The role combines leadership and clinical responsibilities, with approximately half of the time dedicated to direct patient care and half dedicated to administrative, operational, and people management activities. The Advanced Practice Manager participates in a shared provider rotation that includes nights, weekends, and holidays, with approximately 30% of shifts occurring during off-shift hours. Weekend coverage is shared across the team and averages approximately one weekend per month.
You will work within BIDMC's 62-bed Level II and Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), which cares for more than 1,000 newborns annually, including infants born as early as 22 weeks gestation. The NICU utilizes a collaborative, family-centered care model that brings together advanced practice providers, physicians, nurses, therapists, pharmacists, social workers, and other specialists to provide exceptional care to critically ill and premature infants.
As the Advanced Practice Manager, Neonatology, you will provide both clinical and administrative leadership for the NICU Advanced Practice Provider team, consisting of 18 Advanced Practice Providers. You will oversee day-to-day staff management, program operations, scheduling, professional development, and quality initiatives while partnering with clinical and administrative leaders to support departmental goals. In addition, you will maintain an active clinical practice within the NICU, delivering expert neonatal care and serving as a resource and mentor to APP staff.
Lead a dedicated team of Advanced Practice Providers within a high-acuity, nationally recognized academic Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Balance direct patient care with leadership responsibilities, allowing you to make an impact at both the individual patient and program levels. Collaborate with an experienced, interdisciplinary team committed to delivering exceptional, family-centered neonatal care. Help shape the growth, development, and success of the NICU APP program through mentorship, quality improvement, and operational leadership. Master's degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant required. License Nurse Practitioner License required., and Certificate 1 Basic Life Support required. 8-10 years related work experience required and 1-3 years supervisory/management experience required Eight years of experience as a nurse practitioner with at least five years providing clinical services to highly acute patients in a medicine or surgical service. Current MA license for Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant is required Experience with computer systems required, including web based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access.

Pay Range: $180,003.20 USD - $270,004.80 USD The pay range listed for this position is the annual base salary range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
