Job summary

The Department of Surgery, Division of Surgical Oncology at the Huntsman Cancer Hospital is seeking an Advanced Practice Clinician (NP/PA) to join a patient-focused, academic team. The APC collaborates with physicians and operates in both inpatient and ambulatory settings, with opportunities for education, research, and development of new services.

Ideal candidates hold Utah PA licensure, RQI eCredential within 30 days, and relevant certifications.

Qualifications

Current licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant from the State of Utah.
Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential through the University of Utah Health RQI system. The eCredential is to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
ACLS/BLS/NRP/ATLS certification may be required by your department or by privileging criteria.

Responsibilities

Operative first assist for Hepato-Pancreatico, gastric, HIPEC and PIPAC surgeries.
Assistance to the resident team with inpatient rounding, pre and post-operative care, and hospital discharges.
Assist in covering consultations from the emergency department or other hospital services.
Some outpatient clinic visits with faculty providers, including some minor procedures in clinic.
The option for an autonomous outpatient surveillance clinic 1-2 days/week is possible as well as the additional opportunity to develop new clinical services.
Graduated responsibilities for patient assessment and minor procedures, starting with supervision by attending surgeons.
Participate in continuing medical education and education conferences.
