An established industry player in healthcare is seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner to join their dynamic OB/GYN team in Philadelphia. This role involves providing comprehensive care to a diverse patient population, from adolescence to postmenopausal women. The advanced practice provider (Nurse Practitioner) within the ambulatory setting works in collaboration with, and is an integral member of, a multidisciplinary health care team. The APP provides comprehensive care at the OBGYN outpatient practice in Center City, PA.
Busy OB/GYN practice in Center City. Patient population includes both Obstetrical and Gynecological patients from menarche to postmenopausal age.
Responsibilities include independent care of patients, ordering and interpretation of labs and imaging, and procedures such as contraceptive placement and removal, biopsies, and colposcopies. Work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts. No call and no holidays.
Performs complete history and physicals, documents in the medical record, and orders and collects data using assessment techniques and diagnostic procedures. Serves as the first responder for nursing and house staff in patient status changes, orders, and procedural or resuscitative interventions. Assesses risks related to acute and complex chronic patient care, including medication side effects, immobility, nutrition, fluid and electrolyte balance, immunocompetence, invasive interventions, and diagnostics.
Collaborates with the healthcare team to diagnose acute and chronic conditions, manages diagnostic tests, interprets results, and formulates differential diagnoses. Diagnoses complications and orders interventions.
Develops and documents individualized plans of care based on evidence-based guidelines, addressing complex health needs. Implements and modifies plans, prescribes diagnostics and therapies, and performs advanced procedures as per privileges and competency.
Documents key patient information via progress notes, transfer and discharge summaries, and clinic notes. Ensures timely documentation that meets compliance standards and accurately reflects patient acuity.
Maintains communication with the interdisciplinary team, patients, and families to promote continuity of care across settings.
Demonstrates professional behaviors, mentors students, engages in research, participates in grand rounds and meetings, and maintains CEUs and professional memberships.
