Job summary

Beebe Healthcare in Delaware seeks an experienced advanced practice clinician (PA or NP) to lead comprehensive oncology/hematology care across the patient continuum. You will perform assessments, manage treatments, coordinate survivorship, and collaborate with physicians to optimize outcomes.

The role requires licensure as an APRN/PA in Delaware, DEA, BLS, and previous oncology experience; you will join an integrated team delivering high-quality cancer care in a community hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
• Previous oncology experience preferred.
• Licensure as an advanced practice clinician (PA or NP) in Delaware or ability to obtain with offer letter.
• DEA licensure or ability to obtain prior to credentialing.
• Current BLS certification per American Heart Association guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive assessments for new and established oncology and hematology patients.
• Management of complex oncology and hematology patients to include side effect management, diagnosis, and treatment.
• Demonstrates critical thinking, prioritization of duties, and time management skills based on patient assessment and interpretation of test results.
• Serves as the primary clinical support for the infusion center when assigned, including management of infusion reactions and triage issues.
• Formulate and implement survivorship care plans for all curable cancer patients.
• Identify and initiate referrals to palliative care.
• Collaborate with the palliative care team for ongoing patient management.
• Communicate positively and effectively with patients, families, physicians and the oncology team.
• Coordinate patient care with PCP and specialty providers.
• Provide education and counseling on diagnosis, goals of therapy, expectations, and management of side effects.
• Develop a comprehensive plan of care with the attending oncologist including pharmacologic agents and end-of-life care.
• Inpatient oncology and hematology acute care coverage with rapid assessment and treatment.
• Determine appropriate level of care with oncology and inpatient teams.
• Assist in admission and discharge of patients receiving inpatient chemotherapy.
• Administer intrathecal chemotherapy with interventional radiology.
• Provide after-hours call coverage as part of a rotating schedule with on-call oncologist.
