Job summary

Navarro Research and Engineering is seeking an Advanced Practice Clinician in Los Alamos, NM to support the Occupational Health Division. Required credentials include PA-C or NP certifications and NM licensure, plus NM Pharmacy and DEA licenses.

Qualifications

  • Current licensure, certification, and authority to practice as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in New Mexico.
  • PA-Cs must be NCCPA certified and NM licensure; NPs must be NM-licensed as NP and RN.
  • Current NM Pharmacy and DEA licenses are required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide health care to Laboratory employees through the Occupational Health Division within the occupational medicine scope of practice.
  • Assist Laboratory occupational physicians in delivering health services, medical evaluations, treatment, and follow-up care.
  • Serve as a clinical resource by offering guidance and subject matter expertise on occupational medicine.
  • Apply clinical standards and occupational health practices to resolve employee health issues creatively and effectively.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and coordinate with physicians, staff, and stakeholders involved in employee health services.

Position Summary

The Advanced Practice Clinician provides health care to Laboratory employees through the Occupational Health Division, delivering clinical care within the scope of occupational medicine. Requirements
  • Current licensure, certification, and authority to practice as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in New Mexico, as applicable to the clinician\'s discipline.
  • For Physician Assistants, board certification as a PA-C through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and licensure by the New Mexico Board of Medical Examiners/New Mexico Medical Board to practice medicine.
  • For Nurse Practitioners, certification through a National Nurse Practitioner certifying organization, including the American Nurses Credentialing Center, and licensure by the New Mexico Board of Nursing as both NP and RN.
  • Current New Mexico Pharmacy license and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) license.
  • Ability to provide clinical care within the occupational medicine scope of practice and support occupational physicians and Occupational Health staff.
  • Ability to work under limited direction and apply Laboratoryobjectivesto resolve a wide range of clinical and occupational health issues.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Recent clinical experience in occupational medicine.
  • Clinical background in a related field such as family medicine, emergency medicine, urgent care medicine, internal medicine, or sports medicine.
  • Experience supporting employee health, occupational health programs, or clinical services in a laboratory, federal, government, or complex technical operating environment.
  • Strong clinical communication, documentation, coordination, and collaboration skills.

Education and Experience

Position requires 2 to 5 years of recent clinical experience in occupational medicine or in a clinically related field, such as family medicine, emergency/urgent care medicine, internal medicine, or sports medicine. Physician Assistants must be board certified as a PA-C through the NCCPA and licensed by the New Mexico Board of Medical Examiners/New Mexico Medical Board to practice medicine. Nurse Practitioners must hold certification through a National Nurse Practitioner certifying organization, including the American Nurses Credentialing Center, and be licensed by the New Mexico Board of Nursing as both NP and RN. Current New Mexico Pharmacy and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) licenses arerequired.
