Job summary

UChicago Medicine is seeking an Advanced Pharmacy Technician to support the Outpatient Pharmacy Call Center (Mail Order) at Burr Ridge. You will help ensure safe, accurate medication distribution and high-quality pharmaceutical care.

The role includes triage, data entry, and collaboration with pharmacists and other technicians. The position offers a daytime schedule (9:00 AM–5:30 PM), full-time employment at Burr Ridge, IL, and a sign-on bonus up to $2,500.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Illinois pharmacy technician license required.
• National Certification if licensed >2 years.
• ACPE/ASHP accredited program or 500 hours experience preferred.
• Retail/outpatient/mail order/pharmacy experience preferred.
• Knowledge of hospital operations and regulatory requirements.
• Typing at least 35 WPM and accurate data entry.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Process prescription orders and triage/escalate as needed.
• Answer and triage phone calls per policy.
• Ensure safe, accurate, and timely pharmaceutical care and delivery.
• Mentor and train new employees; assist pharmacists with orders.
• Support all pharmacy operations and distributive systems.
