Job summary

The VA is seeking an advanced Pharmacy Technician to support inpatient and outpatient operations. You will process prescriptions, prepare and dispense medications, and handle sterile/non-sterile compounding while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include inventory management, automation support, quality checks, and exceptional customer service to ensure timely distribution of medications to Veterans.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of pharmacy technician principles, practices, concepts and safety standards.
• Proficiency in the computerized prescription processing and input of prescriptions/orders.
• Ability to resolve pharmacy/medication issues with the healthcare team and patients.
• Ability to train developmental technicians and students.
• Ability to dispense medications following all regulations and procedures.
• Ability to troubleshoot automated dispensing equipment (ADE) and related systems.

Responsibilities

• Process and verify prescriptions for inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Prepare and dispense medications with attention to safety and accuracy.
• Perform sterile and non-sterile compounding as required.
