University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center is seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician to support sterile compounding for adult patients. You will work under supervision, contributing to safe and efficient medication preparation and delivery within a hospital setting.

Works under supervision of Pharmacy Technician Supervisor, Pharmacy Technician Manager or Pharmacist Manager. Consistently works independently and effectively. Spend a total of 80% of their staffed hours performing one of the below advanced pharmacy technician concentration areas. Proper management and handling of medications, including investigational and controlled substances. Efficient operation specialty equipment or software necessary in performing job functions. Accurately prepares all sterile admixtures for adults, using proper aseptic technique. Safely handles all hazardous medications, including chemotherapy. Delivers medications in an efficiently. Compounding, packaging and labeling of sterile and non-sterile products in accordance to USP regulations; Perform pharmaceutical calculations. Efficient operation of specialty machinery and equipment (e.g. IV compounding system) Special preparations (e.g. CADD delivery device) Proficient with understanding USP compounding standards and TSBP rules. The shift for this role is Monday thru Friday between the hours of 7am - 7pm and every 6th weekend. Travel to regional sites in DFW for coverage as necessary.
