Job summary

Amphenol is seeking an Inspection Technician to perform final assembly PCB inspections, including visual checks of backplanes, daughter cards, and flex circuits. You will verify measurements with micrometers, Vernier calipers, and pin gauges, and ensure finishes meet IPC‑TM‑650 specs.

Responsibilities include following batch cards and inspection reports, conducting Bow & Twist tests, and supporting FAIs. The role may require overtime and occasional cross-training across departments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or 1–2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read blue prints / customer drawings.
• Basic IPC knowledge and familiarity with IPC specifications.
• IPC-A-600 Certification is preferred.
• Basic computer experience - Microsoft Office (Outlook/Word/Excel).
• 2+ years PCB experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Visual inspection of printed circuit boards including backplane, daughter cards, flex circuits, and assemblies.
• Follow process instructions on batch cards and Inspection Reports.
• Perform physical measurements such as Bow & Twist, and adhesion testing per IPC-TM-650.
• Inspect final finishes such as Tin, Gold, Solder to verify they meet specifications.
• Inspect various product types (flex, rigid-flex, rigid).
• May cross-train in other departments.
• Assist with First Article Inspections (FAIs).
• Overtime may be required for coverage on alternate shifts and weekends.
• Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
