Job summary

Chippenham Hospital (CJW Medical Center) in Richmond, VA seeks an Advanced Patient Care Technician under RN guidance to deliver compassionate, patient-centered care. You will observe patients, assist with ADLs, and perform advanced tasks such as phlebotomy, telemetry monitoring, and IV/catheter care.

The role supports a safe, welcoming environment and requires quick responsiveness to patient needs, with duties spanning clerical support to ensure smooth operations within the care team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Observe patients, document changes, and communicate them with the nursing team
• Help patients with daily needs (ADLs) such as eating, drinking, bathing, and moving safely
• Provide advanced care, including phlebotomy, telemetry monitoring, removing IV lines and catheters, and care for wounds
• Assist with supporting tasks like collecting lab samples and assisting with clerical duties to keep care running smoothly
• Look ahead to what patients might need, respond quickly, and help ensure every experience feels seamless and compassionate

Job Summary And Qualifications

As an Advanced Patient Care Technician (PCT), you will be an important part of delivering compassionate, patient-centered care. Under the guidance of a registered nurse, you will perform advanced clinical tasks and help create a safe, welcoming environment where patients and families feel valued and respected.
