Advanced Paramedic Free Standing Emergency Department PRN

• Attaches 12-lead EKGs and completes tests before providing strips to the physician on duty. Initiates cardiac monitoring, performs venipuncture for testing, detects dysrhythmias, and notifies the nurse or charge nurse of abnormalities. Initiates oxygen therapy as directed by RN or Physician.
• Inserts and removes IV lines as directed by RN.
• Transports unmonitored patients to inpatient departments as needed, transports stable monitored patients to PCU/med-tele, or accompanies RNs to transport patients to specialty units.

Qualifications

The expertise and experience needed to succeed in this role include:

• Completion of a paramedic program
• Valid State Licensure as a Paramedic
• At least one year of ED or pre-hospital paramedic experience
