Job summary

Diversity Group seeks a Nursing Assistant GS-5 for Acute Care. The role builds on GS-4 experience and expands into more complex procedures while integrating into the health care team.

Responsibilities include assisting with nursing care, collecting specimens, observing patient conditions, operating standard equipment, and following isolation protocols under supervision. KSAs and effective communication with staff and patients are essential.

Qualifications

• Six months of general experience
• Experience or education or training
• Education or training leading to health care knowledge
• KSAs demonstrated for nursing assistance
• 4-year education with health care related courses acceptable

Responsibilities

• Assist in full range of nursing care under supervision
• Collect specimens (clean catch, urine, sputum) and explain procedures
• Observe, report changes in patient conditions for care planning
• Operate commonly used treatment equipment
• Follow isolation protocols and assist while maintaining sterility
• Perform venipunctures and monitor patient leads; apply good body mechanics
