Job summary

Mercy is seeking an Advanced MRI Technologist to operate MRI equipment and imaging software, ensuring patient safety and high-quality diagnostic images. This role emphasizes teamwork with physicians, nurses, and technologists to support accurate diagnoses.

Part-time, 20 hours per week. Requires graduation from an accredited Imaging Program, ARRT MR or ARMRIT certification, BLS, and state licensure as applicable; 1 year of related experience preferred.

The Advanced MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) Technologist operates imaging equipment and software, mostly MRI equipment, to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This role requires proficiency in operating imaging equipment, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining high-quality imaging standards. The Advanced MRI Technologist position also requires a strong commitment to patient care, technical expertise, and collaborative communication with patients and healthcare professionals to provide optimal care.


Position Details:

20 hours per week


Education: Graduate of an accredited Imaging Program and completion required clinical hours.


Experience: 1 year of relevant experience


Licensure: State licensure may be required depending on the specific state of practice.


Certification/Registration: ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT; BLS Basic Life Support

  • Proficiency in operating imaging equipment and using imaging software to acquire high-quality diagnostic images.

  • Skilled in effectively communicating with patients, explaining procedures, addressing concerns, and providing emotional support.

  • Ability to communicate and work effectively within a healthcare team, collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff to ensure optimal patient care and outcomes.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex instructions.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.


Physical Requirements:



  • Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.

  • Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.

  • Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
