Overview

Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital proudly serves the healthcare needs of families in St. Charles, Lincoln, and Warren counties. The 102-bed community hospital provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services, including the Siteman Cancer Center, the Breast Health and Women's Center, the Cardiology Center, the Neurosurgery Center, and the Outpatient Surgery and Endoscopy Center.

Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital is an Accredited Chest Pain Center with a Level II stroke certification. The hospital's medical office building houses specialists in primary care, cardiology, obstetrics, dermatology, surgery, and pulmonology. Outpatient services include physical therapy, a sleep lab, and cardio-pulmonary rehabilitation.

At Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital, every decision prioritizes patients and families. The medical/surgical unit cares for a variety of patients utilizing a relationship-based care philosophy.

Preferred Qualifications
Role Purpose

The Assistant Nurse Manager provides administrative support to Nurse Managers and their teams, including coordinating patient care, managing performance, equipment procurement, and data collection.

Responsibilities
  1. Manage staff, including hiring, training, assigning work, evaluating performance, and developing professional growth plans. Ensure team actions support departmental goals.
  2. Assist in developing departmental staffing, revenue, and expense budgets, and monitor adherence to these budgets, responding to business changes as needed.
  3. Oversee patient care according to planned interventions, ensuring appropriate documentation.
  4. Develop and implement collaborative care plans based on assessments and medical treatments.
  5. Support staff scheduling, payroll updates, and communication. Make staffing decisions, assign nursing tasks, and manage overtime. Conduct performance reviews and disciplinary actions as needed.
  6. Ensure staff productivity aligns with departmental goals. Conduct performance evaluations and recommend improvements.
Minimum Requirements
  • Education: Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree in Nursing
  • Experience: 2-5 years
  • Licenses & Certifications: RN license
Preferred Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • Experience: 5-10 years
