Job summary

Methods Machine Tools, Inc. is seeking an Applications Engineer – Advanced Milling in Gilberts, IL to support sales, demonstrations, and process development for high-performance CNC milling solutions.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in CNC machining and CAM programming, with expertise in 3- to 5-axis milling, tooling optimization, and multi-material processing. Domestic travel up to 50–70% is required, with a strong focus on productivity, quality, and profitability.

Qualifications

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
5+ years of CNC machining or applications engineering experience.
Extensive experience with advanced CNC milling operations.
Experience developing machining processes for production environments.
Machine tool industry experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide technical support to regional sales during the sales cycle and customer visits.
Develop milling solutions, tooling packages, and workholding strategies.
Create machining processes, cycle time analyses, and toolpath concepts.
Program CAM and machine controls; optimize parameters for productivity.
Train customers and support post-installation process improvements.
Collaborate with Product Management and Service to resolve issues.
