The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs seeks an Advanced Medical Support Assistant (AMSA) at the VA Medical Center's Care Navigation Center, Community Care. The AMSA provides technical support that helps physicians, physician assistants, nurses, and other care staff deliver patient care and ensure efficient patient flow.
Key qualifications include U.S. citizenship, a high school diploma or GED, and proficiency in English.
This position is located in Care Navigation Center, Community Care at the VA Medical Center. The Advanced Medical Support Assistant (AMSA) is responsible for performing a variety of technical support duties that facilitate the work of physicians, physician assistants, nurses, nursing assistants, and other members of the medical facility who provide direct patient care. AMSAs are considered chief sources of patient care and patient flow information.
May qualify based on being covered by the Grandfathering Provision as described in the VA Qualification Standard for this occupation (only applicable to current VHA employees who are in this occupation and meet the criteria).
Experience: One year of creditable experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-5).
