Job summary

CoxHealth is seeking a Medical Assistant III to perform administrative duties such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and data entry, under supervision. Clinical tasks include measuring vital signs, collecting demographics, and assisting with medication administration.

The role requires completion of an MA program with pharmacology and externship, plus a CoxHealth-approved certification. Strong communication and computer skills are essential for success in a busy ambulatory clinic

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduated from an MA training program that included pharmacology, anatomy/physiology, basics of medication administration and a clinical externship.
• Certification or registration from a CoxHealth approved program: CMA/AAMA, RMA/AMT, CCMA/NHA, NRCMA/NAHP, NCMA/NCCT, RMA/AAMP.

Responsibilities

• Answering phones, scheduling appointments, and data entry in medical records under supervision.
• Measuring and recording vital signs and collecting demographics or medical information including review of medication list.
• Preparing patients for examination, cleaning rooms and equipment, and stocking supplies.
• Administration of medications as directed by a supervisor or provider.
