Job description

Advanced Mechanical Engineer (US Citizenship REQUIRED)

Contract to Hire

RATE RANGE: $45 - $55/hr W2 (no health benefits/no paid PTO while on contract, an hour worked is an hour paid)

DURATION: 12+ month contract, conversion to perm normally happens after 6 months

LOCATION: McLeansville NC 27301. This position is fully on-site, OR Hybrid/Flex as permitted.

CLEARANCE: Able to obtain a secret security clearance from the Department of Defense U.S. citizenship is required.

RESPONSIBILITIES: As a mechanical engineer, you'll be a member of and may lead a cross functional team responsible for the development of electronic and mechanical packaging design, and validation, including: structural and thermal analysis, shock and vibration, and design for manufacturability.

REQUIRED SKILLS
  • Proficiency with modeling CAD tools to create mechanical models and drawings
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing and fabrication methods, as well as technical, government, and industry standards
  • Creative thinker capable of leading a team in the preparation of project design, testing, and prototype fabrication
  • Attention to detail and ability to document technical information to be consumed by technical and non-technical individuals.
PREFERRED SKILLS
  • Working knowledge of computer aided analysis tools (thermal, CFD, structural), such as Ansys
  • Working knowledge of computer aided design tools (3D, 2D, layout), such as Creo
  • Experience with small form factor, high power electromechanical elements
  • Self-starting, detail-focused, problem solver
  • Experience with high-pressure applications, including sealing technologies
EDUCATION REQUIRED

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
