Job summary

Light & Wonder in Las Vegas develops mechanical systems, packaging, and testing for gaming products. This Mechanical Design Engineer role designs assemblies, creates 3D CAD models, generates drawings and BOMs, and guides prototype fabrication.

You will lead cross-functional collaboration, evaluate prototypes, and help develop standards for diverse engineering activities. Familiarity with SolidWorks, BOMs, and ECO/PLM is expected, with strong drafting experience.

Qualifications

  • Proven knowledge of mechanical engineering theory, principles and practices.
  • Experience leading engineering activities and teams.
  • Strong understanding of 3D CAD systems (SolidWorks preferred).
  • Familiarity with BOMs and manufacturing processes; drafting experience or training.
  • Knowledge of ECO release process using Agile or PLM.
  • Familiarity with basic shop tools and equipment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Position Summary

Mechanical Design Engineer: Designs and analyzes mechanical systems, equipment and packaging. Conducts feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs. Directs support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication. Provides design information to drafting for packaging documentation.

Designs mechanical assemblies, parts, and systems for the products of the Company

Creates parts and assemblies using 3D CAD software; uses previous experience and knowledge to weight function, cost, and manufacturability

Creates mechanical drawings, Bill of Materials information, and other documentation for product release

Evaluates prototype products and designs for possible refinement through assembly and test

Applies creativity, foresight, and mature engineering judgment in anticipating and solving problems, determining objectives and requirements, organizing projects, and developing standards and guides for diverse engineering activities

Interact and collaborate with cross-functional across a wide range of experience levels

May determine approach on new assignments and my operate as a team lead

Qualifications
  • Must have extensive knowledge of theory, principles, and procedures of Mechanical Engineering
  • Demonstrates effective and efficient leadership skills
  • Understanding of 3D CAD systems, preferably SolidWorks
  • Familiarity with Bill of Materials and manufacturing processes; drafting experience or training required
  • Knowledge of ECO release process using Agile or other equivalent PLM application
  • Familiarity with basic shop equipment and hand tools used in assembly of prototypes
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills
