Job summary

University of New Hampshire in Durham, NH is seeking motivated engineering interns to support experimental design, data collection, and technical documentation for advanced manufacturing projects.

You will collaborate with faculty, graduate students, and industry professionals to design prototypes, analyze results, and communicate findings, gaining hands-on experience with state-of-the-art equipment.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a high school, undergraduate, or graduate program in engineering or related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar) preferred.
• Basic understanding of machining, welding, or additive manufacturing is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented research environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing prototypes and conducting manufacturing experiments.
• Collect and analyze data from material testing and process monitoring systems.
• Work with CAD and CAM software for part design and toolpath generation.
• Operate lab equipment, ensuring safety and proper usage.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations to document findings.
• Collaborate with team members on project tasks and research objectives.
