Job summary

Copeland in Rushville, IN is seeking an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer to join our AME group, focusing on CNC machining and manufacturing automation. You will lead development, program CNC machines, and implement cost-saving manufacturing improvements.

This onsite role requires a degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing engineering with 3 years of experience, strong CAD/CAM skills (NX/SolidWorks/Inventor), and knowledge of PFMEA and Gauge R&R.

Qualifications

• Intermediate to advanced CNC machine programming knowledge and experience.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings with GD&T principles and apply them to machining processes.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a commitment to producing excellent work.
• Excellent organizational, planning, and communication skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Knowledge and ability to implement Quality and Lean tools such as Process Capability, Statistical Analysis, Structured Problem‑Solving, PFMEA’s, and Gauge R&R’s.
• Experience working with 3D CAD software (NX, SolidWorks, Inventor).
• Legal authorization to work in the United States – Sponsorship will not be provided with this position

Manufacturing Engineer Opportunity

We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME) group at Copeland. This position, based in our Rushville, Indianna facility, will focus primarily on supporting manufacturing strategic initiatives for CNC machining, and sharing best practices.

In this position you will work collaboratively with global production and engineering teams to develop and implement new automation and manufacturing solutions, optimize existing machining processes, reduce manufacturing costs, and support new product development programs.

As an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer, you will:

Required Education, Experience, and Skills

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing engineering or related engineering field and 3 years of applicable experience.
• Intermediate to advanced CNC machine programming knowledge and experience.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings with an understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles and an ability to apply them to machining processes.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a commitment to producing excellent work.
• Excellent organizational, planning, and communication skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong understanding and ability to implement Quality and Lean tools such as Process Capability, Statistical Analysis, Structured Problem‑Solving, PFMEA’s, and Gauge R&R’s.
• Experience working with 3D CAD software (examples: NX, Solidworks, Inventor)

Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing engineering, or related engineering field, with five (5) or more years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge and experience machining cast iron
• Knowledge and experience with highly automated manufacturing systems
• Experience programming and working with industrial robots
• Experience with Siemens NX 3D modeling.
• Experience with CAM programming and machine simulation software (Siemens CAM, Vericut, Etc)
• Formal Lean and SPC training or certification

This role is based fully onsite, and not eligible for hybrid or remote work opportunities.

About Our Location

Our 2-building campus offers a safe and clean work environment with a “family” atmosphere. We manufacture new semi-hermetic compressors and take the worn‑out, failed compressors out of the field and remanufacture them to “like new” status, as well as manufacture crank shafts.
