Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, BOMs, and other engineering docs.
  • Experience developing manufacturing documents such as work instructions, BOMs, material lists, wire lists, etc.
  • Strong understanding of electrical assembly, wiring, manufacturing processes, and DFx principles.
  • Hands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving with production teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead advanced manufacturing projects from concept through production implementation with ROI analysis.
  • Develop and implement automation solutions including robotics, machine vision, sensors, and controls.
  • Create digital manufacturing solutions for real-time production visibility and data collection.
  • Improve material flow and operator effectiveness with automated handling and digital tools.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies like IIoT, AR, and predictive maintenance for production benefits.
  • Manage equipment suppliers and system integrators; lead FAT/SAT, installation and handoff.
  • Establish KPIs and measure productivity, quality, and cost reductions.
  • Collaborate with CI and Manufacturing Eng to maximize operational impact.

SENS is looking for a hands‑on Advanced Manufacturing Engineer to identify, develop, and implement technologies that fundamentally improve how our products are built and how our factory operates. This role will turn emerging manufacturing technologies into practical, scalable production solutions that improve safety, productivity, quality, material flow, capacity, and operator effectiveness.

This is an execution-focused engineering role. The Advanced Manufacturing Engineer will turn opportunities into working production solutions by developing and testing concepts, building business cases, selecting and managing vendors and integrators, and leading projects through design, implementation, validation, and production handoff. The role will work closely with Continuous Improvement, Manufacturing Engineering, Production, IT, Quality, Safety, and other functions to advance our manufacturing capabilities through technology.

Responsibilities
  • Lead advanced manufacturing projects from concept through production implementation, including requirements development, technical evaluation, proof‑of‑concept, business case/ROI, vendor selection, design, implementation, validation, and production handoff.
  • Develop and implement automation solutions for manufacturing and assembly processes, including robotics, collaborative robots, automated tooling and fixtures, machine vision, sensors, controls, and other production technologies.
  • Develop digital manufacturing and smart factory solutions that connect people, equipment, materials, and production systems, including automated data collection, digital Andon and material triggers, dashboards, system integration, and real‑time production visibility.
  • Develop and implement technologies that improve material flow and operator effectiveness, including automated material handling, pick‑to‑light systems, digital replenishment, electronic Kanban, augmented reality, and other visual or digital production tools.
  • Evaluate, prototype, and apply emerging manufacturing technologies such as machine learning, predictive maintenance, IIoT, augmented reality, advanced sensing, autonomous material movement, and other technologies; rapidly prove concepts and scale successful solutions into production.
  • Develop technical specifications and manage equipment suppliers, automation vendors, and system integrators; lead equipment design reviews, FAT/SAT, installation, commissioning, qualification, validation, and production handoff while ensuring solutions meet production, quality, reliability, and machine safety requirements.
  • Establish KPIs and performance requirements for advanced manufacturing projects and measure results against productivity, labor efficiency, quality, capacity, reliability, cost reduction, and return‑on‑investment targets.
  • Partner with Continuous Improvement and Manufacturing Engineering to evaluate prioritized opportunities and determine where automation, digitalization, or advanced technology can deliver the greatest operational impact.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience in a similar role.
  • Relevant education, training, or experience in electrical engineering, manufacturing engineering, industrialization, product engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and understand electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, BOMs, and other engineering documentation.
  • Experience developing manufacturing documents, such as work instructions, BOMs, material lists, wire lists, or similar production documentation.
  • Strong understanding and working knowledge of electrical assembly, wiring, manufacturing processes, and design for manufacturability principles.
  • Strong hands‑on troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to work directly with production teams in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Hands‑on experience programming or integrating PLCs, robotics, collaborative robots, machine vision, sensors, industrial controls, or automated equipment.
  • Experience with manufacturing system integration, APIs, SQL, Python, industrial communication protocols, or production data architectures.
  • Experience implementing smart factory or Industry 4.0 technologies such as Internet of Things, connected equipment, automated data collection, augmented reality, machine learning, or predictive maintenance.
  • Experience with automated material handling technologies such as AGVs/AMRs, pick‑to‑light, electronic Kanban, digital replenishment, or other intelligent material‑flow systems.
  • Experience developing and justifying advanced manufacturing projects through ROI, labor savings, capacity improvements, quality improvements, and other measurable operational benefits.

Base Compensation

$103,000 - $146,000 is the projected annual base salary range for this role and will be determined on the candidate’s overall qualifications and experience.

Bonus

This position is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
