Teijin Automotive Technologies is a pioneering Tier One supplier focused on lightweight technologies, seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to drive cost estimates and equipment launches across CSP facilities. You will lead DFM/DFA workshops, ensure manufacturability of designs, and collaborate with engineering teams to optimize processes and tooling.

This role requires strong project management, time-study expertise, and experience with 3D drawings and GD&T in an automotive setting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field withminimum of 5 years of experience, or technical training with 10+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering related field.
  • Experience in automotive/manufacturing; knowledge of 3D drawing formats and GD&T.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Project, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Assist and develop manufacturing cost estimates for business cases.
  • Lead DFM/DFA workshops.
  • Plan and design manufacturing equipment, tooling and processes for CSP production facilities.
  • Coordinate the launch of manufacturing equipment/processes across CSP facilities from inception to execution.
  • Ensure manufacturability of engineering designs and changes.
  • Collaborate with IE and Product Engineering to determine parts, equipment, tools, and material handling needed to achieve goals.
  • Maintain supplier compliance with equipment standards via RFQs and reviews.
  • Monitor QA/QC policies and specifications.
  • Communicate with customers/Program Manager to interpret needs.
  • Conduct time and method studies and establish time standards.

Teijin Automotive offers employees the opportunity to join a leading edge company within the composite material industry and enjoy the benefits offered by a growing company in North America and internationally.Essential Job Functions:Responsible for assisting and developing manufacturing cost estimates for business casesLead DFM/DFA workshopsEnsure that customer requirements are met by planning and helping to design manufacturing equipment, tooling and processes for CSP production facilities.Coordinate the launch of manufacturing equipment/processes for new and revised products across CSP facilities from inception to execution.Ensure manufacturability of engineering designs and engineering changes.Collaborate with I.E. and Product Engineering groups to determine the parts, equipment, tools, material handling, part flow and processes needed to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specifications.Maintain and ensure supplier compliance with equipment standards by creating detailed RFQ's and efficient project management through timely design reviews, validation, and installation.Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, company performance standards and specifications.Effectively work and communicate with customers and/or Program Manager to interpret their needs and requirements.Perform overall project control of the equipment launch (budget, schedule, plans, open issue tracking) and report regularly on project status to all stakeholders.Review project deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions for all areas of the equipment/process being launched.Identify, qualify, and develop new equipment suppliers.Perform research, testing, measurements, data collection, and engineering analysis in office, laboratory, and manufacturing environments. Complete moderately complex engineering assignments independently.Conduct time and method studies establishing time standards for manufacturing operations.Develop standards for equipment incorporating best practices with the latest technology and safety equipment in the industry.Conduct line balancing studies and material flow studies to achieve optimum balance between man and machine.Time management and organization skills.Decision making ability and leadership skills.Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or relative field with minimum of 5 years of experience or technical training with 10+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering related field.Previous work experience or knowledge of engineering, automotive, or manufacturing strongly preferred including experience with navigating various 3D drawing formats and a working understanding of GD&T.Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Project, Word, and PowerPoint.Composites post mold processing experience is a plus.Physical Requirements:Job requires working in a manufacturing/plant environment.May occasionally lift or carry light items (up to 25 pounds).While performing the duties of this job, the employee works on the plant floor and in an office environment.Travel is required from 30 - 60%Position requires exposure to noise, temperature extremes, moving parts, fumes, etc. in a plant environment.
