Job summary

Schwan's Company in Pasadena, TX is seeking a Maintenance Technician responsible for preventive maintenance and complex repairs on conveyor systems and food production machinery. You will troubleshoot, weld, fabricate, and install equipment to support production needs in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 3+ years of related experience, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Working hours vary, including full-time, overtime, and weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; two-year degree in specialized maintenance trade preferred.
• 3+ years of related experience.
• Work different ranges of hours such as full-time, overtime, or weekend shifts.
• Basic to advanced mechanical knowledge, electrical and building skills.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on conveyor systems and production machinery to ensure reliable operation and minimize downtime.
• Perform mechanical repairs including shaft keying, sprocket broaching, gear head replacement, welding, hydraulic hose fabrication, and belt maintenance.
• Assist with equipment setup, teardown, welding, fabrication, and installation of plant machinery to support production needs.
• Diagnose mechanical issues using observation, listening, and precision instruments to identify root causes.
• Use SAP to document maintenance activities, track work orders, and coordinate with production and operations teams to optimize workflow.
