Job summary

Mitsubishi Chemical America in La Porte, TX is seeking an organized Advanced Specialist in Logistics & Inventory Control to coordinate shipments, process orders in SAP, and support inventory accuracy. You will work with distributors, warehouse partners, and carriers to ensure on-time delivery while maintaining documentation and cost controls.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years in logistics or inventory control, familiarity with SAP MM, and strong Excel/Word skills.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in logistics, transportation coordination, inventory control, or a related field.
• SAP MM experience preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Process customer orders in SAP from receipt through invoicing.
• Coordinate finished-product shipments to meet delivery commitments for domestic and export shipments.
• Communicate with distributors, warehouse coordinators, carriers, and dispatchers to confirm shipment details and address delays.
• Coordinate inventory availability with the onsite Inventory Coordinator and logistics team.
• Support month-end closing and inventory reconciliation by reviewing reports and resolving discrepancies.
• Arrange transfers to off-site warehouses to maintain target inventory levels.
• Review freight invoices for accuracy and monitor transportation costs and carrier performance.
• Collaborate with Logistics, Packaging, and Finished Product Lab teams on shipment readiness.
• Maintain organized logistics documentation and protect confidential information.
• Follow established procedures and seek guidance on complex situations.
• Develop knowledge to provide backup coverage for logistics leadership during absences.
