Job description

**Job Description Summary**

Activities contributing to the design and development of products, solutions, and systems. Includes activities linked to the technical improvement of existing products and components. Responsible for departmental operations planning/execution or focused on the execution of professional activities within a technical discipline. Functions with some autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results.

The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness, etc.).

**Roles and Responsibilities**

  1. Create definitions of parts, modules, and assemblies in the form of 2D cross sections, 3D models, tolerance stack-ups, and various electronic data formats to support analysis, manufacturing, assembly, tooling, and inspection.
  2. Includes direct people management responsibility, including staffing and performance development. Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking to execute policy/strategy.
  3. Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and market differentiators.
  4. Uses judgment and proposes solutions outside set parameters to address complex manufacturing processes with technical variety or interdependent cycles. Uses technical experience and multiple internal and limited external sources for decision-making.
  5. Acts as a resource for less experienced colleagues. May lead small, low-risk projects, explain information, develop skills, and handle sensitive issues.

**Required Qualifications**

  1. Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college.
  2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in design engineering.
  3. Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required; no sponsorship will be provided.

**Desired Characteristics**

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
