Job summary

Southern Landscape Group is seeking an experienced Landscape Care Team Technician in Central Virginia to support nightly operations on client properties. You will assist the Team Leader in horticultural services, irrigation work, lighting, water features, and seasonal cleanups, while applying pesticides with proper PPE and following plans.

The role requires physical endurance and a strong safety mindset, with daily field work Monday–Friday and potential weekend OT.

Qualifications

• High school degree or GED with two years of documented green industry experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to use Apple technology for time tracking and job management.
• Strong analytical problem solving and decision making ability.
• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate with clients and professionals.
• Ability to use Google Translate to communicate with Spanish speaking workers.
• Assist team leader with training and coaching a team of two or more members.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient job site and ensure tools are maintained.
• Ability to drive truck & trailer combinations.
• Maintain a neat and clean professional appearance.
• Works as a team member with a positive attitude.
• Knows and supports the company’s vision and values.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing job notes for scope of work to be performed daily.
• Read, measure, and interpret landscape plans.
• Readiness to work with pesticides and PPE.
• Mix and apply various pesticides using proper PPE.
• Perform landscape services: bed maintenance, pruning, plant health, irrigation, water features, lighting, floral care, spring cleanups.
• Operate small/medium tools (hedge trimmers, blowers, trimmers, etc.).
• Identify enhancement ideas and report to the team leader.
• Learn properties, responsibilities, and limits of work.
