The Imaging Core within the VHS houses academic, research, continuing education, modern equipment, and clinical programs that address the promotion of animal and human health. Position Summary: Provide a contributing role to the technological aspects of animal and human imaging research projects and provide expertise in research application using CT, Nuclear Medicine, and MRI. Work with researchers on advancing technologies and innovative imaging techniques using both software and hardware developments. Perform clinical imaging with high and low field MRI, helical and cone beam CT, PETCT, and nuclear medicine on animal patients. The technologist is primarily responsible for the development of protocols based on discussion with clinical or research faculty. The Advanced Imaging Technologist will provide service to the clinical animal advanced imaging section (CT, MRI, NM, and PET/CT) while assisting with technological aspects of clinical animal magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computed tomography (CT), Nuclear Medicine (NM), and positron emission tomography (PET/CT) imaging. Supporting animal and human imaging research projects is expected.
This is an essential worker position and must be willing and able to report to work as directed to perform essential and/or emergency services without delay or interruption.
The successful candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States by the proposed start date; the department will not provide visa sponsorship for this position.
