Job summary

Team Mobile Health Care (TMHC) in Murfreesboro, TN seeks a qualified AEMT to respond to medical and traumatic emergencies, provide on-scene care, and support patient transfers. Job description

Primary Responsibilities

• Respond to select medical and traumatic emergencies and inter‑facility transfers to hospitals, clinics, and nursing homes.
• Provide emergency medical care at the scene, en route to the hospital, and during transportation.
• Adhere to Company, local, regional, and state guidelines regarding patient care.
• Perform AEMT life support procedures based on certification level.
• Perform other duties related to emergency and non‑emergency medical care and development of the emergency medical system and/or TMHC (Team Mobile Health Care).

Specific Duties

• Demonstrate and ensure knowledge, understanding, and compliance with TMHC policies and procedures.
• Ensure that the vehicle and equipment are ready for use at the start of the shift and after every call, including cleaning, disinfecting, restocking, and completing daily checklists.
• Respond to emergencies and non-emergencies using appropriate care and caution in accordance with Tennessee law, EMS regulations, company policy, and safe vehicle operation; wear seatbelts in company vehicles.
• Render emergency and non‑emergency medical care according to TMHC, Tennessee, DPH/OEMS, and Regional Office of OEMS regulations; deliver the patient to the nearest appropriate facility.
• Work with ALS personnel at their skill level; maintain good relationships between ALS services and outside services.
• Act in the best interests of high-quality patient care and reflect credibly on TMHC.
• Prioritize personal safety and the safety of partner, patient, other EMS personnel, bystanders, and public safety personnel.
• Accompany BLS patients to their destination, providing care and advocacy until responsibility has been transferred and a report has been given.
• Cosign all patient care forms for completeness.
• Complete all appropriate documentation and record‑keeping for every assignment.
• Adhere to Universal Precautions/Body Substance Isolation and infection control policies and procedures.
• Act as a team leader when necessary, directing and supervising other team members.
• Perform duties related to public relations and community education programs sponsored by TMHC.
• Accept responsibility for recertification as an EMT by DPH/OEMS, attend continuing education courses, and file appropriate paperwork to ensure timely recertification.
• Provide TMHC with current copies of EMT certification, CPR card, and driver’s license and complete all company, state, and federal training mandates.
• Report to assigned shifts in proper uniform and on time; remain on duty until properly relieved.
• Act as an EMT preceptor when called upon by management to train or retrain employees.
• Allow and accommodate third riders for orientation and educational purposes; complete all documentation on behalf of student interns.
• Perform other duties as directed by management.
• Maintain professionalism and leadership; place patient care excellence above all else.
• Receive competitive night/weekend pay.

Responsible To

• Chief Clinical Operations Officer, Division President, and/or Director of Patient Care Services for all operational matters.
• Clinical Director or Clinical Programs Manager for all professional and/or clinical care and/or quality matters.
• Paramedics, physicians, and nursing personnel for consultation, supervision, and direction in providing emergency medical care to patients.

Requirements

• Currently registered as an AEMT by the State of Tennessee, Department of Public Health Office of Emergency Medical Services.
• Current certification in CPR – Basic Life Support by the American Heart Association or American Safety and Health Institute.
• Current Motor Vehicle Operator’s license with F endorsement.
• Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision, using good judgment and common sense, with a thorough understanding of the principles of emergency medical care.
• Ability to work efficiently and interact constructively and professionally with other employees, partners, public safety personnel, medical staff, and other emergency medical service members.
