Job summary

Jan-Care Ambulance is seeking an ACT/EMT-I to provide safe and compassionate emergency medical transportation and non-emergency transfers. The role emphasizes patient dignity, protocol-driven care, and teamwork across WV and neighboring regions.

You will work in a community-oriented company with a history of growth, serving rural and urban areas, and engaging in ongoing EMS training and professional development.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of EMS operations and EMS equipment.
• Ability to learn through training in EMS methods.
• Ability to navigate road systems in assigned communities.

Responsibilities

• Attend orientation and EMS operations training.
• Provide out-of-hospital care and safe ambulance transport per protocols.
• Lift and move patients safely (125 lb alone, 250 lb with assistance).
• Communicate with co-workers, patients, physicians, and dispatchers.
• Operate in English; meet vision requirements for driving.
• Document patient information using approved OEMS systems.
• Inspect ambulances and equipment; report maintenance needs.
• Respond to callbacks and emergencies; assist other personnel.
• Maintain professional appearance and be team-oriented.
• Perform event stand-by operations at events with large crowds.
• Respond to hazardous materials and disasters as first responder.
• Understand stress, patient privacy, and HIPAA rules.
• Interact professionally with outside agencies and hospital staff.
