Mayville EMS is hiring for an Advanced EMT (AEMT) on a full-time basis in Mayville, WI. You will provide rescue services and emergency medical care, respond to calls, perform BLS and ALS on scene and during transport, and keep vehicles and station ready to go.

The role requires a Wisconsin AEMT license, CPR, a high school diploma, a driver’s license, and at least one year of EMS field experience. Training and equipment are provided, with a 12-hour Pitman schedule now and a plan to move to 24/48

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Wisconsin AEMT license is required; RN licensure may allow practice at AEMT level.
• Current CPR for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet vehicle-insurance requirements are required.
• One year of EMS field experience is required.
• Basic computer skills and accurate data entry are preferred.
• Ability to lift and carry 100+ lbs with assistance and work in demanding conditions.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends and holidays.

About the Role

Under the direction of the EMS Director or Deputy Director, the AEMT provides rescue services and emergency medical care in line with state law, protocols, and Mayville EMS policy. You'll be part of a crew that responds to emergency and non-emergency calls, delivers basic and advanced life support on scene and during transport, and keeps our rigs and station ready to go.

What You'll Do

• Respond promptly and calmly to emergency and non-emergency calls
• Assess patients, prioritize care, and provide authorized BLS and ALS care on scene and during transport
• Rescue and safely extricate patients using appropriate techniques
• Safely operate emergency vehicles per state law and department policy
• Communicate professionally with dispatch, hospitals, partner agencies, patients, and the public
• Complete accurate, timely patient care reports and protect patient privacy
• Check, clean, restock, and maintain ambulances, equipment, and the station
• Help train squad members, EMS students, and the public, and represent Mayville EMS at community events and standbys

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Current Wisconsin AEMT license (qualifying state and national RN licensure may allow practice at the AEMT level)
• Current CPR for Healthcare Providers certification
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet vehicle-insurance requirements
• One year of EMS field experience*
• Basic computer skills and accurate data entry
• Ability to lift and carry 100+ lbs with assistance and work in demanding conditions (stairs, weather, traffic, confined spaces)
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
• Completion of continuing education required by Mayville EMS

*Mayville EMS Training Center graduates: the one-year field experience requirement is waived if you completed your training through the Mayville EMS Training Center.
