What You’ll Do

As the resident Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-A), you will manage donor medical needs at our Donor Centers and ensure compliance with all applicable policies and regulations. You will work under the guidance of the Center Medical/Lab Director. Your role is critical to our donor-centric mission and offers an opportunity to be part of a passionate, agile, and growing team.

  • Educate potential donors on the plasmapheresis process, expectations, and the positive impact of plasma donation.
  • Maintain confidentiality of donor and staff records.
  • Evaluate donors through physical examinations and health histories under supervision, following FDA-approved SOPs, OSHA, CLIA, cGMP, and all relevant guidelines.
  • Assess donor suitability by reviewing health histories and test results.
  • Counsel donors on deferrals and health-related reasons for ineligibility.
  • Treat major reactions and evaluate donor injuries.
  • Maintain medical supplies, keep exam rooms clean, and follow universal precautions.
  • Communicate with the Center Medical/Lab Director regarding test results and donor eligibility.
  • Oversee the Hepatitis B program for staff.

Qualifications
  • Certified/licensed as an EMT-A or equivalent in your state.
  • Current CPR or BLS certification.
  • Experience in a GMP environment with plasma or blood, or related clinical experience.
  • Physical ability to lift at least 50 lbs, and to sit or stand for extended periods.
