Job summary

Keystone Human Services seeks an Advanced Direct Support Professional to help adults with intellectual disabilities, mental health needs, and autism live healthier, more independent lives. You will create a supportive home setting, teach daily living skills, assist with personal care, and advocate for wellness under supervision.

Responsibilities may include administering medications, performing delegated nursing tasks, monitoring health, and responding to emergencies following established

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• One year work experience supporting individuals with either challenging medical needs and/or behaviors or dual diagnosis of intellectual disability and mental health.
• Effective communication and proficient computer skills are required.
• Successful completion of required certifications and training mandated by regulations and additional specialized medical/behavioral trainings may be necessary.
• Valid driver’s license and, depending on location, daily access to a privately maintained and insured vehicle may be required.

Responsibilities

• Support adults by creating a healthy and engaging home setting and teaching daily living skills.
• Assist with personal care and advocate for health and wellness of the people supported.
• May administer medications and perform delegated nursing tasks under supervision and according to protocols.
• Respond to emergencies following protocols and implement behavior support plans.
• Support individuals with a high level of need as defined by clinical and/or health care assessments.
