Job summary

Mobile Communications America, a leading provider of wireless, data, and security solutions, seeks a DAS Technician in Schaumburg, IL. You will install and support DAS components, work across diverse environments, and ensure system health aligns with SLAs while maintaining safety and quality at every site.

The role requires 1 year of technical experience, willingness to learn, and the ability to read schematics.

Qualifications

  • 1 year of technical experience, or a combination of related education/experience.
  • Willingness to learn new technology and design plans and bills of material.
  • Hands-on experience with project-specific OEMs.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings/schematics.
  • Able to work flexible shifts including evenings and weekends.
  • Must interact professionally.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with public safety and wireless equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrating proficiency and quality during installation of project-specific components and equipment to manufacturer and company standards.
  • Assisting in installation and support of various cable types (coaxial, fiber, Cat 5/6) in commercial and residential environments.
  • Demonstrating the ability to use basic hand and power tools.
  • Demonstrating professional conduct at all job sites.
  • Assisting in completing installations in diverse buildings (stadiums, hospitals, schools, offices, multi-family homes).
  • Maintaining a safe and clean work area with orderly tools.
  • Overseeing health and performance of DAS systems to meet KPIs and SLAs.
  • Receiving, acting on, updating, and resolving DAS tickets and service requests.
  • Interfacing with Carrier and OEM resources as needed.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
  • Demonstrating proficiency and quality during the installation of project-specific components and equipment that is consistent with manufacturer and company standards.
  • Assisting in the installation and support of various cable types (coaxial, fiber, Cat 5/6, etc.) in commercial and residential environments to meet desired quality standards.
  • Demonstrating the ability to use basic hand and power tools.
  • Demonstrating the ability to work professionally at all job sites.
  • Assisting in the completion of installations in a diverse range of buildings including stadiums, motor speedways, hospitals, schools, office buildings, and multi-family homes.
  • Maintaining a safe and clean work area with orderly tools.
  • Maintaining customer confidence by performing outstanding work.
  • Oversee the health and performance of a set of DAS systems to ensure that KPIs are met and that required maintenance and repairs are made within Service Level Agreements.
  • Receive, act on, update, and resolve tickets related to DAS troubles and Service requests.
  • Interfacing as needed with Carrier and OEM resources as needed.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE TEAM:
  • 1 year of technical experience, or a combination of related education/experience.
  • Willingness to learn new technology and design plans and bills of material.
  • Hands-on experience with project-specific OEMs.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts and to adapt to technologies in public safety and wireless communications and equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings/schematics.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, establish priorities, work independently as well as part of a team, and proceed with objectives with some supervision.
  • Must be able to interact and communicate professionally.
  • Proven track record of reliability, integrity, and responsibility.
  • Performing Engineering C&I as necessary, responding to service requests and alarms, working with the Project Manager of the market to ensure all due outs are completed, and also responding to the Manager for the Managed Services team as needed.
  • Candidate would be required to perform necessary reporting to both teams which will vary depending on the assignment.
YOUR ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The physical environment requires the employee to work inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to frequently stand, walk, sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear; utilize personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to potentially hazardous materials, lift (overhead, waist level) from the floor, bending, frequently utilize near vision use for reading and computer use; be able to handle semi-frequent stressful conditions (cardiovascular), frequently work in outdoor weather conditions, frequently move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, occasionally ascend/descend a ladder, operate a motor vehicle, frequently position self to maintain computers or other equipment as needed.

On-call for critical systems, maintenance may be required. First shift hours Monday – Friday, with occasional 2nd or 3rd shift and weekends depending on project schedules.

Travel as necessary to support company and customer needs.
