Job summary
Airbus U.S. Space & Defense, Inc is seeking a manufacturing automation engineer to develop, implement, and support SCADA, LMS, PLC, HMI and related control systems for aerospace production.
The role involves design of UL‑compliant control panels, integration with AGVs/CMRs, collaboration with Quality, Production and Design teams, and driving continuous improvement in manufacturing processes to assure product quality and reliability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing, Electrical, Industrial Automation) or related discipline.
- 5+ years of proven experience in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on automated test systems and spacecraft/satellites manufacturing as a plus.
- Experience designing control panels that meet UL certification requirements.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical expert for SCADA, LMS, CMR and AGV systems, supporting manufacturing engineers and addressing troubleshooting needs.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing processes, satellite configurations, and procedural requirements.
- Coordinate with various departments to facilitate design and process changes, non-conformance management, and anomaly resolution.
- Support and lead the repair and maintenance activities for manufacturing systems and equipment.
