Job summary

Abacus Technology Corporation seeks a Sr. Communications/Navigation Engineer to provide technical support at Wright-Patterson AFB in a full-time role.

Responsibilities include avionics development, navigation, and secure communications across military and civilian networks. The candidate will evaluate documentation for DoD/AF airworthiness, translate requirements into system specifications, and report findings to the program office.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in communications engineering, with 5+ years supporting DoD programs.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Understanding MIL-HDBK-16 Airworthiness Certification Criteria and aircraft systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist with compliance for avionics development, test, sustainment, and operations including navigation, LOS/BLOS data link systems, and networks.
• Evaluate technical documents for sufficiency to demonstrate compliance with specifications and airworthiness; summarize findings and communicate results to the program office.
• Apply DoD/AF principles to improve performance and sustainability of weapons systems.
• Translate user requirements into weapon system requirements and design specs for development, testing, and fielding.
• Communicate with management, technical staff, and end users in a clear and professional manner.
