Job summary

Seattle City Light is seeking a Communications Electrician II to install, maintain, and repair a wide range of communications equipment and related electronic/ mechanical systems for a major municipal utility.

The role requires strong electronics theory, circuit design, and programming knowledge, plus the ability to read blueprints, operate diagnostic tools, and use hand and power tools. Reports to the Communications Electric Construction & Maintenance Supervisor.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience installing, maintaining, testing, and repairing electronic communications equipment.
• Experience with ac drive or related equipment is not required; focus is comms tech.
• Washington State driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Install and repair electronic communications equipment and facilities, including land mobile radio systems and alarm systems.
• Plan, test, and document installation work and modifications from schematics.
• Maintain communications equipment through inspections and testing programs.
• Install, test, maintain, calibrate, and repair chemical feeding and proportioning equipment as needed.
• Identify and repair problems at system, board, and component levels.
• Read specifications, blueprints, and manuals to install and repair systems.
