Job summary

Durex Industries is seeking an Advanced CNC Turning Technician for the 2nd shift in Cary, IL. You will set up, run, and improve turning and milling processes for precision components, translating prints into reliable operations and ensuring tight tolerances.

You will also mentor operators, support scheduling and materials, and contribute to safety and quality initiatives. Benefits include a sign-on bonus up to $5,000.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Proficient with calipers, micrometers, indicators, edge finders, and blueprint reading.
• Experienced with CNC controls and cutting tools; capable of deburring and final handling to customer specifications.
• Independent, organized, detail‑minded, safety and quality oriented; communicates well with peers, departments, and management.
• Own your work: you take responsibility for decisions and their impact on others.
• GD&T application on the floor.
• CNC programming with G-code and M-code; confident with edits at the control.
• Setups and changeovers for production runs; precision measurement and hand metrology.
• Strong lathe experience with complementary milling knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Translate work orders, routers, and prints into turning and milling operations.
• Set up close‑tolerance and conventional jobs: study drawings, load CNC programs, install tools, verify offsets.
• Run first articles; conduct operational checks and quality tests; verify parts with precision measuring tools.
• Document everything thoroughly—sign‑offs, forms, reports, logs, and electronic records.
• Troubleshoot equipment and processes; adjust tooling and code to keep production on track.
• Contribute to training, workflow coordination, scheduling support, inventory and material management.
• Pitch in with additional tasks as assigned and model safety and quality in every action.
