The Advanced Clinical Pharmacy Specialist oversees the medication distribution system for their area of responsibility. The Clinical Pharmacist identifies, prevents, and resolves drug therapy problems by ensuring each medication is indicated, effective, safe, and convenient for the patient.

Job Description

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Education:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy
  • Completion of PGY2 Pharmacy Specialty Residency PLUS 5 years of relevant experience; OR Completion of PGY1 Pharmacy Residency PLUS 7 years of relevant experience; OR Completion of no residency PLUS 10 years of relevant experience. For pharmacists with 15 years of relevant experience, the pharmacy supervisor may determine on a case-by-case basis the most appropriate tier for the pharmacist, considering past involvement at institution, local, state, and national levels.

Experience:

  • Pharmacist License in the State of Pennsylvania
  • Board certification from the Board of Pharmacy Specialties. Alternatively, specialized certification in the area of clinical practice by the pharmacist may be deemed acceptable, evaluated on a case-by-case basis by the pharmacy supervisor.
