Job summary

HCA Florida Mercy Hospital seeks an Advanced Clinical Pharmacist NICU to provide expert pharmaceutical care in the NICU unit. You will lead hospital pharmacy services, mentor staff, and collaborate with physicians to optimize therapy for critically ill patients. Applicants should have a PharmD or B.S.

in Pharmacy, completed PGY-1 (PGY-2 preferred), and pharmacy licensure. Inpatient ICU experience is highly valued, with potential for a sign-on bonus and career growth within the HCA Healthcare

Qualifications

• ICU experience is preferred.
• 5+ years of inpatient hospital experience is preferred.
• 3+ years of HCA inpatient hospital experience is preferred.
• Maintains current pharmacist licensure with the state board of pharmacy is required.
• Pharmacist Board Certification is required.
• Specialty certifications, as determined by facility needs, may be required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and dispense medications safely and accurately.
• Provide drug information to patients and families.
• Issue controlled substances to patient care areas and maintain records as required by law and corporate policies and procedures.
• Lead committees responsible for medication-related policies and procedures.
• Serve as a mentor to pharmacy students, residents, and colleagues in a manner that fosters highly professional pharmaceutical care.
• Work with physicians to monitor medication therapy for contraindications, interactions, allergies, and appropriate drug and dose.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As an Advanced Clinical Pharmacist, you will be responsible for one or more specialty services within the hospital, ensuring the safe and effective pharmaceutical care for patients. You will act as a patient advocate, collaborating with healthcare professionals as a member of a multidisciplinary team. In addition, you will lead pharmacy services within the hospital by serving or chairing hospital committees, presenting at conferences, etc.

What you will do in this role:

• Graduate of an accredited PGY-1 pharmacy residency program is required.
• Graduate of an accredited PGY-2 pharmacy residency program is preferred.
• 5+ years of inpatient hospital experience is preferred.
• 3+ years of HCA inpatient hospital experience is preferred.
• Maintains current pharmacist licensure, with the state board of pharmacy, is required.
• Pharmacist Board Certification is required
• Specialty certifications, as determined by the facility needs, may be required.
