Job summary

Hannaford Supermarkets is seeking a Pharmacist Assistant to greet customers, assist pharmacists with prescriptions, maintain records, and support inventory and compliance for the pharmacy department.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of criminal background check and drug testing as required.
• Maintain current national certification and state license as required.
• Maintain advanced certifications (i.e., immunizer certification) and requirements.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong keyboard skills and a demonstrated ability to learn new software applications.
• Effective time management skills and sense of urgency.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous service.
• Assist pharmacists with prescriptions, data entry, counting, pouring medications, and labeling.
• Ensure prescriptions are prepared timely and accurately.
• Maintain pharmacy records as required by law.
• Maintain confidentiality of customer and company information.
• Help customers locate over-the-counter items.
• Adhere to attendance and paid time off policies and assist with scheduling.
• Understand and follow state/federal laws and regulations.
• Assist in maintaining inventory, ordering, stocking, and returns.
• Support physical inventory procedures and analyze variance reports.
• Review and understand ACIS reports.
• Assist in third-party audits as needed.
• Share responsibility for department maintenance and appearance.
• Assist with ordering pharmacy supplies and ensuring proper organization.
• Observe company policies and dress code; maintain professional appearance.
• Support safety standards and report needed repairs.
• Foster a positive work environment and teamwork.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
