Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and approved cardiac/vascular training required.
• At least 2 years of cardiac or vascular ultrasound experience required.
• RDCS, RVT, RCS or RVS certification required at hire.
• Comparable combination of education and experience may substitute.

Responsibilities

• Performs 2D ultrasound recordings and Doppler flow analyses of cardiac and vascular structures.
• Obtains velocities and records measurements according to procedures.
• Provides preliminary reports to physicians per department protocols.
• Maintains equipment and work area; reports any issues.
• Assists RN and physician with procedures and patient preparation/discharge.
• Participates in performance improvement activities and departmental research.
• Communicates with physicians, patients, and healthcare team; documents in medical records.
• Participates in call rotation per department guidelines.

Education

RDCS - Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer

RVT - Registered Vascular Technologist

RCS - Registered Cardiac Sonographer

RVS - Registered Vascular Sonographer

High School Diploma or equivalent with approved cardiac/vascular training

2 years of cardiac or vascular ultrasound experience
